Allele: Origin is an in-development dark fantasy visual novel and interactive fiction work. An ongoing plague has brought humanity close to extinction, and monsters have evolved from the drive to survive. The protagonist is mysteriously immune to disease, was once persecuted as the Devil's Bride or Bridegroom, and is defined by resilience. The player chooses the protagonist's name and gender. The cast includes Isaac Ashborne, ruler of the Duchy of Terislan; Simon Baudreau, a naturalist philosopher studying the Resilire Allele and the Plague of Undeath; and Anthony Shaw, an infiltrating spy for a druidic sect. Mature themes appear.
