Scrapecremental
What is Scrapecremental?
Scrapecremental is a cozy incremental browser game about scraping dust off town locations. Take jobs, rub each spot clean with the mouse or a finger, return hidden finds, and spend dust on a skill tree of upgrades.
Scrapecremental is a simulation game by Halo Games. The player takes scraping jobs from a board, rubs dust off places such as a ceiling fan, attic window, and blinds, and spends the dust on a skill tree with upgrades like a firmer press, tougher nail, bigger jar, Hot Hands, Clean Sweep, and business cards. Each place hides three finds; returning them earns tips and a word for the next client. Cleaning a place to its mark in one go earns a Shine stamp. It is described as closer to a clicker than an idle game.

About this game
Read the full developer description
Somebody has to scrape it off. Your uncle Gary runs a scraping firm. You have a fingernail. The town is full of things under a coat of dust. Take a job off the board, rub it clean, spend the dust on a better nail, and keep going. Bigger clients are watching. It is a cosy incremental game with a big skill tree of upgrades, closer to a clicker than to an idle game: nothing gets clean unless you scrape it.
18 October 2026 · Thank you for playing and for all the comments. We are deep in the full game now: four new kinds of gunk and a town full of new clients.
13 October 2026 · Hello world. It is my birthday today, btw.
- You scrape it yourself. No button to click: you rub the gunk off with the mouse or your finger. Going out and back over one spot beats sliding about, and the game can tell the difference.
- Something is under there. Every place hides three finds under its dust. Hand them back and the owner tips you, then puts in a word for you at the next place.
- A skill tree paid in dust. A firmer press, a tougher nail, a bigger jar, Hot Hands, Clean Sweep, and business cards that bring new clients to the board.
- Stamps. Clean a place to its mark in one go and it is stamped. A stamp is a Shine, the one currency you cannot grind.
The whole dust route. It starts small: a ceiling fan, an attic window, a set of blinds. Each place has an owner with opinions, three things lost under the dust and something going on in the background. Where it ends up is for you to find out. About an hour.
Plays in the browser, on a computer or on a phone held either way up. It saves by itself.
Dust is only the first kind of gunk. The demo ends where the others begin.
- Four more routes: chewing gum, soot, burnt cheese and grease. Each comes off differently, sounds different and is a currency of its own.
- Dozens more things to scrape, each with its owner and its finds.
- The rest of the skill tree: the branches the demo shows greyed out, paid in the new kinds of gunk.
- More records for Gary's radio. The demo has one. He says that is not him being cheap.
This is the plan, not a promise to the last number.
The full game is coming to Steam: wishlist Scrapecremental on Steam and Steam will tell you the day it is out. Here on itch you can also add it to a collection and follow Halo Games, or come and wait with us on Discord.
Liked it? Rate Scrapecremental on itch. It takes two seconds and it is how other people find small games like this one.
Rather play it on your phone? Phones have no button for "tell me when this is out", so we made one: leave your email and we will write to you once, the day it lands on Android and iPhone.
The Scrapecremental Discord is where the game is being made in the open: what is being built this week, early looks at the next kinds of gunk, and the place to say what felt good under your nail and what did not. Small, and we read all of it.
The demo is free and stays free. If you would like to help us finish the rest, you can become a patron or buy us a coffee. Entirely optional: nothing in the game is locked behind it. Your name goes on the Patron Wall and in the credits, and yes, we actually clap.
Uncle Gary, who owns the firm. Kyle from 3B, who is not happy with the service. Hank the landlord. Betty next door. The others will introduce themselves.
Controls: hold the left mouse button, or your finger, and scrape. Sound is under the gear.
The demo sends anonymous play statistics (how long things take, what gets bought) so the game can be balanced by how people really play. No name, no address, no account. There is a switch for it under the gear.
Made with Godot. Sounds are CC0 recordings from Freesound; the record on the radio is "Treasure finding" by Komiku (CC0).
