The Chef's Shift is a fast-paced cooking simulation about preparing Italian dishes for hungry customers. Players type words to cook and serve, manage a limited tray, and handle disturbances while trying to meet the shift's sales target.
The Chef's Shift is a fast-paced cooking simulation about serving Italian dishes while managing several tasks. Players prepare dishes by typing words, send ready dishes to a limited tray, and serve customers by typing above their heads with their preferred dish already prepared. Typing at the cashier earns money from satisfied customers. The challenge is balancing cooking, serving, and disturbances at the same time. Mr. Whisker, a business competitor, tries to fetch recipes; typing above the rat lets the revolver handle him. Meeting the sales target by the end of the shift advances the player. Some dishes require an additional process.
How to play The Chef's Shift
- Type the words above a dish to prepare it.
- Let ready-to-serve dishes go to the tray; the tray can store only a limited amount.
- Type the words above a customer's head to serve their preferred dish, provided it is already prepared.
- Type words on the cashier to collect money from satisfied customers.
- Press DELETE to discard a dish on the tray or BACKSPACE to reset typing and choose another word.
- Meet the sales target by the end of the shift to advance to the next level.

Tips for The Chef's Shift
- Prepare a customer's preferred dish before typing above the customer; serving depends on having the dish ready.
- Watch tray capacity and use DELETE to discard unwanted dishes when storage is limited.
- Use BACKSPACE when the current typing choice is not the one needed, then choose another word.
- Type above Mr. Whisker when the rat appears to let the revolver handle him as he tries to fetch recipes.
- Balance cooking, serving, and disturbances at the same time to reach the minimum sales target.

get them satisfied — and in return, get their money —
to help you get closer to reaching the minimum sales target.
It requires a good balancing act between cooking, serving,
and managing all kinds of disturbance, all at the same time.
Type words above the dish to prepare 'em up.
Some dish requires additional process,
but more on that later.
Ready-to-serve dish goes to the tray.
Tray can only store limited amount of dish.
Press DELETE to discard a dish on the tray.
Serve dish to your paying customer by typing words above their head with their preferred dish, provided you've already prepared the dish beforehand.
Serve them before they lose interest in consuming Italian cuisine.
When in doubt, press BACKSPACE to reset your typing
(which allows you to choose another word to type).
Occasionally, you’ll meet your official business competitor, Mr. Whisker,
trying to fetch your recipe by sampling the whole thing.
Unfortunately, diplomacy is a strange concept for him,
so the best course of action is
to let your trusty revolver to do the talking.

Type words on cashier to attain wealth from satisfied customer.

to the next level!
This was a submission for GameJamPlus Indonesia 2022,
a 2-day game jam.
And we are proud to say that our game won several awards on

This game is like the refined version of it after 2 month-ish of pain development,
